In 2003, Wen Jiabao (温家宝) served as the prime minister of the government (China's No. 2 leader). To this technocrat (geological engineer), people have two completely different views.

The first view is that Wen is a good guy. During his tenure, Wen has repeatedly appealed for political reform (an euphemism for democratization), but the party ignored his appeals.

The second view is that Wen is a bad guy (pretending to be a good guy). Under his protection, Wen's family (especially his wife) made huge profits from state-monopolized jewelry business.

In China, Wen is called yingdi (影帝), meaning a movie superstar who is very good at acting and disguising. No matter how people think of Wen, I have a good impression of him.
