After SARS (see 272) ended, scientists concluded that the pandemic probably originated from a certain kind of bat or civet in Cantonese Province (广东省) in southern China.

We, as Beijingers, are not surprised at this conclusion, because we know that Cantonese are "omnivorous" gourmets, who fanatically eat almost all (cooked) wild animals.

We often laugh at Cantonese: they eat everything on the land except train, they eat everything in the sea except ship, and they eat everything in the sky except airplane.

As for the origin of coronavirus (COVID-19) breakout in early 2020, there is no a scientific conclusion yet. I guess that it likely still is a kind of wild animal.
