Politics usually is complicated, and politicians usually are controversial. In China, it is generally recognized that one of the most controversial politicians is Zhu Rongji (朱镕基).

Zhu, an electromechanical engineer graduated from Tsinghua University, was the prime minister of China government from 1998 to 2003. People always have two completely different views for him.

The first view is: Zhu is a good guy worthy of gratitude. With his unremitting efforts, China has joined the World Trade Organization (WTO) and integrated with the global economy.

The second view is: Zhu is a bad guy who deserves to die. It was during his tenure that at least 30 million industrial workers became Dalit-like (untouchable) LOWs (see 248).
